About SCILS
SCILS is the collaboration on matter pertaining to the formation of Information Literacy Skills standard for the state of Sarawak.
The purpose of the establishment of this committee is to develop standard for Information Literacy in Sarawak which will be used as a standard for organizing Information Literacy related activities among libraries in the state.
Other IL Standard available around the world will be used as a reference on developing this standard.
The first meeting was held in Miri, Sarawak, MALAYSIA in early August 2006 and chaired by Ms. Rashidah Bolhassan, CEO of Sarawak State Library. The meeting has been attended by various libraries throughout Sarawak such as Pustaka Negeri Sarawak [Sarawak State Library], Unimas [Universiti Malaysia Sarawak] library, Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak, Curtin University Sarawak and representatives from Local Authorities library.
